Laboratory for Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems (LASIS), founded in 2016, aims to be a source of excellence for multidisciplinary research in Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems for advanced systems - especially intelligent/automated vehicles. Within this context, her objectives are:
(i) To perform high-level fundamental research;
(ii) To cultivate students in the relevant multi-disciplines with strong academic and engineering innovation; and
(iii) To connect the academic research and industrial development.
The recent research emphases in the LASIS are:
(i) Smart material-based adaptive structures for shock and vibration control;
(ii) Nonlinear dynamics and control for vehicular chassis-by-wire systems, including active/semi-active suspensions/mounts and brake-by-wire systems; and
(iii) Safety of the intended functionality for advanced vehicles.
